Lesson 10
Free-writing Exercises and Oral Presentations
Subject Area: English Language Arts, Morals, Media, Ethics and History
Grade level: 6-7
Time: One lesson, one day
Students: All students
Materials:
- Paper and Pencils
(that’s it!)

Objectives:
- Students should freely express their new found knowledge through written and oral expression regarding freedom.
- Confronting freedom through free expression (such as verbal, written or artistic methods).
- Students should internalize the effects of the discrimination within their given society.
Procedures:
- Lesson commences with free-writing exercise based on prior-knowledge. Students can write about anything they wish pertinent to freedom. This activity is not to be graded yet just an introduction to the lesson to get the students writing. (If the students do not feel like writing down what they have learned, they can illustrate their knowledge instead)
- After fifteen minutes of writing, the students will have to informally present their work to the class.
- Each student should briefly explain to the class what they have learned about freedom over the past days.
- There will be a shore question and answer period after each presentation.
- At the end of the presentations, the teacher should note the global understanding about freedom and review it once again.
Evaluation:
- Assess their ability to express themselves through the concept of free-writing.
- Assess their ability to express themselves orally.
- Evaluate their understanding of the concepts learned through their responses in the question-answer period.
